One Day and a Wake UP

Well today is the last day before I take off and test out all my new technology, my planning blood sweat and tears, as well as pack.  I am using the clothes packing method suggested on one of the forums from RFTW folks. Lay out everything you think you need to take, remove half and put back away. Rinse and repeat!  LOL  Yes I’ve now gone cross country back and forth three separate times and I still take too much of what I don’t need and not enough of what I do.  In 2019 on my first trip across, I said to myself I don’t need no stinking jacket. It’s May and the temps will be in the 70’s and up right?  Um No, I hit Albuquerque and it decided to rain, be overcast and freaking COLD!  I put on every stich of clothes I brought plus the rain suit.  Yes, I was smart enough to take that, and I still froze my butt off.  Lesson learned, on long distance rides, you can’t just cut the ride short and go home and try another day.  So now

the jacket and the Chaps go, no matter what else has to stay behind.

So I’m wondering, if I can fit everything I need into the bike and still have empty saddle bags and noting crammed onto the top of the trunk.  What exactly are the passengers bringing???  Wait don’t answer that, I really don’t want to know.  Well now I’m in the waiting game. 0900 KSU tomorrow morning if I can wait that long.
